Student Companion Project 2022-23

The Companion Project develops tutoring between equals, in such a way that the students of higher courses (2nd, 3rd and 4th), called “mentors” offer information about the University of Cadiz environment, organization and services to the first-year students recently admitted to the University.

Students that participate in the Companion Project in the role of a mentor obtain the recognition of 2 ECTS for complementary activities in the Bachelor’s degree.

GOALS

  • Facilitate the adaptation of new students at the beginning of the academic year by providing information about the University, serving as a reference for any doubts or difficulties that may arise in their first year at the UCA.

COMMITMENT

  • You must attend a training course (between 20 and 30 hours) organised in the month of September (just before the beginning of classes) and the Welcome Act.
  • You will carry out sessions with the assigned group of novice students.
  • You will fill out the project assessment questionnaires online.

BENEFITS

  • You will learn more about the resources and services available at the UCA.
  • You will improve your communication and group management skills.
  • You will participate in a proactive activity, supporting your fellow students who have come to study at your Faculty, with the personal gratification that this entails.
  • You will receive 2 ECTS credits for complementary activities in the BA STUDY PROGRAMMES.
