Welcome
WELCOME TO THE FACULTY OF LABOUR SCIENCES
The School of Labour Sciences opened its doors in 1990, when the old Seminar of Social Sciences, adjacent to the University of Granada was replaced by the Graduate School of Social Work. It is a relatively new center, located in the very heart of historic Cadiz, in an imposing environment. It faces the emblematic La Caleta beach, and the bastions of San Sebastian and Santa Catalina on its left and right, standing at the entrance to the no less emblematic La Viña neighbourhood, the cradle of the Carnival of Cadiz. The University building itself served many different uses in the past, most prominently, during a short period when it housed the Royal Spanish Mint.
The building was completely refurbished in 2000, entering the new century fully renovated and equipped with first-class facilities: the main auditorium, graduate’s hall, study room, seminar rooms, IT rooms, and the Wi-Fi connection throughout the building, as well as cutting-edge audio visual equipment.
If the key asset of an organisation or a society is its human capital, the Faculty of Labour Sciences is fortunate to count with professors known for their commitment to teaching, as evidenced by the high ratings received from our students in evaluation surveys. In terms of research, it is worth noting that more than a half of the staff is comprised by PhD holders, and the Faculty counts with its own interdisciplinary research group in Labour Sciences.
This School is present in three campuses:
